seemingly always scattered, a pattern
of matted dreamshapes, fattened in the heat of expectation,
flattened by the next realisation,
their edges tattered, clarity shattered,
battered and fried until golden and splattered wide
until colder and moulded into bite-sized, disguised pieces
of my delusion,
a fusion of this creature's confusion...
so I walked into a mountain and climbed up the underside,
tired fingers feeling their way into humid holes,
my head heavier than the rocks I cling to,
and tipping backwards until I fall,
singing through my hair,
the first few lines of last night's nightmare
and landing somehow,
landing somehow...
worn in, worn out, found out,
on the chin I might take it
if I spin my thin thread on the wind,
and change almost nothing into nearly something,
rearrange pain, hang it up like bunting,
hunting down rage and diluting the one thing that
suffocates my fate,
no crime in the shooting, it makes me late,
a state of hating and endlessly waiting,
I create for the aching and ache for creating...
so I flew into a waterfall and drank deeply from
hot drops of poisonous thoughts,
ought to try to escape
but caught in tall, trembling vines,
binding slimes
and I'm out of time,
until a crack in the sky pushes me to fly,
I'm dropping forever, stopping never,
thinking whatever,
but landing somehow,
landing somehow...
